Anjali then insists on meeting with Natasha. Although hurt, she is not angry at him as he has punished himself enough. Overwhelmed with guilt, he confesses the truth to Anjali. Vicky realizes that Natasha's obsession of him has become dangerous. Natasha hires hitmen to plant a bomb in Vicky's car. Vicky later tells her to stay away from him. At the engagement party, Natasha, mad with jealousy, starts dancing barefoot on broken glass until she faints. Natasha discovers that Vicky and Anjali are engaged. Vicky proposes to Anajali and she accepts. Natasha then attempts suicide but Vicky rushes her to the hospital in time. An uncomfortable Vicky tells Natasha that their one night together was a mistake and that he only loves Anjali. He goes back to India, but Natasha accompanies him. Things heat up and Vicky and Natasha spend a passionate night together.

Natasha invites Vicky to her home for her birthday. When Natasha\'s father died in a car accident, Natasha, with no one else to love, put all her love and devotion on Vicky aside, and has been alone ever since. Natasha's father had warned her that her love for Vicky can never be, as Vicky loved Anjali, but she refused to listen. Natasha knew Vicky in college and harboured a deep infatuation for him. Natasha helps Vicky become a star, however, Vicky is unaware of Natasha's hidden motives. In Canada, he meets the owner of the company, Natasha (Karisma Kapoor). He gets a big offer from a music company in America and accepts it.

I am not advocating it, but it certainly is the lesser of the two evils.Vicky (Akshay Kumar) is an aspiring singer who is devoted to his true love, Anjali (Amisha Patel). Why make a film on a story that has been told a zillion times? And, if making inspired films is your thing, why not rent an award-winning Hollywood flick? Also, he may be cool, but to have him play a college kid is a bit of a stretch.Īfter the debacle of Dosti, Suneel Darshan should have thought some more about releasing this. He needed better make-up and some wardrobe sense. Amisha Patel too has a fabulous wardrobe and looks spirited.įrankly, then, the film belongs to the two actresses, especially Karishma. One wishes she had a better comeback vehicle. She is subtly sensuous and, for once, not dressed outrageously. The music by Nadeem Shravan belongs to decades ago. The dialogue, though attempting to intersperse casual English words, is still stuck in a time warp.

The dubbing is often out of synch and the cinematography is unimaginative. Romantic scenes between lovebirds Vicky and Anjali include sharing a melting ice cream that leads to you-know-what. The rest leads to a clichd and bizarre ending, so let's not go there.Įverything about this film seems hackneyed. Now, she turns into a full-blown psycho, slitting wrists, dancing feverishly on glass, plotting murder and the like. So far, she was a wacky CEO, ready to undergo business losses to promote her object of affection. He resists at first, but then.įrom then on, Natasha follows him everywhere, demanding her rights, appearing out of nowhere like a ghost. So they fly off to the US, where she makes a pass at him. It turns out she has loved him since they were in college and has floated a music company just to make him, well, her 'jeevan sathi'.

Natasha, owner of a music company called Angel Music, offers Vicky a job and promises to make his dreams come true. They disappear somewhere in the middle to come back for the climax. These lisping (it's supposed to be funny) 'villains' hire two badfellas called Tarzan and Tiger (chuckle), who don't look menacing enough to hurt a fly. There is also an absolutely unnecessary sub-plot about two musical show organisers - Morani (Gulshan Grover ) and Torani (Ashish Vidyarthi) - out to get Vicky for refusing them a show. An educated, sensible girl, she isn't pursuing a career, doesn't even hold a job and has no plans to study further.Įnter Natasha (Karishma Kapoor ), the third point in this flogged-to-death love triangle. She dutifully waits for him every evening and forgives his every mischief. Vicky (Akshay Kumar ) harbours a dream of becoming a pop star and is supported by girlfriend Anjali (Amisha Patel ). Welcome to a world where ordinary folk live in castles so huge that their voices echo (at least they do in the emotional scenes).
